Typically Rhétaises, these houses blend the simple, authentic architecture of the Ile de Ré with L'ARRANGEUSE's avant-garde vision.

Staying at the Houses

For a family vacation, an off-season long weekend (minimum 4-night stay) or even to telecommute while enjoying the calm of the village of Les Portes-en-Ré, Les Maisons de L'ARRANGEUSE are an ideal destination.

 

L'Amarrée, the large 4-bedroom house, and Le Cabanon, the small 2-bedroom house, are both located in the heart of the village, in the same alleyway, but are totally independent. They can be rented together or independently.

 

The village of Les Portes, with its exceptional location at the end of the island, offers a wide variety of landscapes, beaches and activities (cycling, golf, horse riding, kite surfing...). Throughout your stay, take pleasure in eliminating the need for your car and doing everything on foot or by bike! The island is also kid-friendly, making it ideal for family vacations.

Le Cabanon

Completely renovated in 2020, this former wine cellar at the very end of the alley, set in a private 100sqm garden enclosed by dry stone walls, offers a full experience of Ecologie d'Intérieur®.

 

The main living area, open onto the terrace, garden and century-old fig tree, offers the comfort of a vast living room with its minimalist fireplace, the functionality of a fully-equipped kitchen and the conviviality of a farm table for meals. A laundry room completes the ground floor.

 

The first floor, served by a graphic staircase in cream polished concrete, features a large bathroom with bathtub and two bedrooms. One double bedroom with a small desk, the other with two single beds and a large storage closet.

 

The Cabanon is heated in winter (in addition to the fireplace) and is fully equipped to accommodate a baby. Pets are not allowed in the Cabanon, except for very well-behaved small pets! Wifi available for work or play!

Completely renovated in 2016, l'Amarrée is an authentic Portingalese village house and former forge! All that remains of this past is the large fireplace in the heart of the living room and the typically Rhétaise allure of the house. 

 

Over two floors, l'Amarrée now boasts all the comforts of a family home. On the ground floor, a large 30sqm living room with a fitted kitchen opening onto the lounge and a storeroom under the staircase.

A double bedroom, a large bathroom, a toilet and a light-filled laundry room complete the living space.

 

 

Upstairs are 3 bedrooms: 2 children's bedrooms and a master suite with its own shower room overlooking the rooftops. An additional toilet completes the night floor.

 

L'Amarrée has no "outside" space, but a shared backyard (with neighbors) provides storage for bikes and surfboards...

Kitchen: oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer, Nespresso machine, 4-burner induction hob, toaster, electric kettle, mixer stand.

Bathroom: heated towel rail, hairdryer.
Baby: high chair, cot, baby cook, changing mat and toilet seat reducer.

Heating: wood-burning fireplace with retractable door, underfloor heating on ground floor, electric radiators on first floor (in each room).
Garden: Fermob table and chairs for 6p, Trinidad deckchairs and chairs, guinguette lights in the fig tree, brazier with barbecue grills.

Bedding: 1 double bed 140cm and two single beds 90cm, pillows 65x65cm

Both houses have WIFI. They are rented without linen, which can be rented on site from Loclinge.com, for instance.

Le Cabanon and l'Amarrée are on the edge of the pedestrianized part of the village, but benefit from the calm of the "venelle" (dead-end street), which puts them right in the heart of the village, yet sufficiently a part! All the village's shops are less than 5 minutes away on foot, the Gros Jonc beach is 5 minutes away on foot, the Petit Bec beach is 10 minutes away by bike and Trousse-chemise is 15 minutes away. Numerous bike rental companies are available on site, offering all types of bikes (adult, children's, cariole, tandem, electric...). It's impossible to park in front of the houses, but free parking is available just a 3-minute walk away.
